Tata Indicom USB Modem and Mac
Tata Indicom USB Data Modem (EpiValley)
I managed to configure it within 60 seconds on my PowerBook. It worked on the right hand side USB Port and NOT in the left hand side.
Upon insertion in the USB port, go to
System Preferences -> Network
The modem will be recognised as Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM
I configured it like this:
Create New Location : Tata Indicom
Under PPP Dialogue Box enter the following details:
Service Provider : Tata Indicom
Account Name : internet
Password : internet
Telephone Number : #777
Alternate Number : leave blank
check ‘save password’ to avoind annoying messages
Click PPP options: Check ‘Use TCP Header Compression’
Check ‘Use Verbose Logging’
leave all else unchecked say OK
Go to Modem tab
select ‘au CDMA 1x WIN W01K’ modem script from the drop down menu
Dialling : Tone
leave all else unchecked.
Open Internet Connect
Select Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM and connect
It should work immediately. To connect on Mac OSX Leopard (10.5.x) you can use the Modem Script: au by kddiNote: Get your USB Modem activated by the guys at the Tata Indicom Store. It needs activation before use. You wont be able to see data transferred etc, but it works fine. This Connection is incredibly slow. Recommended no-buy.
