Sony Ericsson W395 and Mac

The Sony Ericsson W395 unfortunately doesnt work with iSync, but pretty well with a Mac using PhoneAmigo and GSM Remote.

First pair the phone using Bluetooth and Phone Amigo. You will be able to select Direct COM port

Now go to GSM Remote. Pair the phone here as well. Go to Preferences. Your phone should be on the list. Now go to Phone Book and click onLoad. GSM Remote will load your phone’s contact list, as you want, either from SIM memory or Phone memory or both. You have an option from exporting this list using File->Export as Vcards.

These VCards can be imported in Apple Address Book. Its a round about way, but works very well.

Nokia N8

The N8 is a Symbian V3 TouchScreen phone from Nokia. What we love is large screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Micro USB, FM Radio and Transmitter and HDMI (yes, HDMI). It has excellent software support.

  • Unified push email client supporting multiple protocols: Yahoo!® Mail, Gmail™, Windows Live™, Hotmail and other popular POP/IMAP services, Mail for Exchange, IBM Lotus traveler
  • Editing of key office documents

And best of all, it has native support for iSync via this downloadable plugin from Nokia.
