Not many would know it, but there is an original Facebook App for Nokia E71/E72 at the Nokia Ovi Store here.
You will need a free Nokia Ovi store login to be able to download it. The app itself is free too.
I just got myself a Reliance Huawei EC1260 3G USB data modem.
The good thing is when you connect, it shows a disc image of a Mac installer. The bad thing is, the Mac installer is for a 32 bit OS, and Snow Leopard is 64 bit. Of course you can boot in 32 bit mode by pressing 3+2 when booting, but that isnt a good solution.
Fortunately Huawei has released a 64 bit driver which sadly the Reliance customer care don’t know about yet.
You can download the Huawei driver here. I downloaded the MobileConnectDriver (4.16.00.00).
Make sure you get your modem ‘activated’ by the folks at Reliance when you buy it. Activation can ONLY be done on a Wondows PC. Unless activated the modem wont work.
Double click to go through the standard installation procedure.

GPS (Global Positioning System) vs AGPS (Assisted Global Positioning System. Which is better for a mobile phone user. Here’s an attempt to understand:
Sprint describes how their system is supposed to work from their online FAQ:
Q: What is Assisted GPS? How do you find me if only two satellites are available?
A: To meet the defined industry standards, a precision location fix requires a minimum of three GPS measurements. The term “Assisted” refers to how Sprint network resources are used to provide a more robust measurement when only two satellites are visible.
Precision fix in tens of seconds.
Very High accuracy (typically 5m-50m).
Line of sight to three satellites is not required as in regular GPS technology, but two satellites must be visible for a precise AGPS fix.
GPS chipset required in device. (All Sprint phones sold since Jan 2002 have the GPS chipset. Contact your Sprint account representative for additional information.)
This is why many of us in the forums often cringe when someone suggests that having a standalone SiRFIII chip in a phone is preferable to an aGPS system, although the confusion is quite understandable and that brings us to our next point: the caveats.

Airtel and Vodafone launch the iPhone 3G in a non-3G country at the ridiculous price of approximately USD 700. Still many will buy it. Mostly from the grey market where it’s cheaper and install a hack. If only cellular service providers in India would realize they could manyfold increase the data using user-base if they subsidized the handset a bit.
About gSync – sync Apple iCal with Google Calendar
Synchronize your Apple iCal calendars with your Google Calendars. This means you can update calendars across all your Macs, keeping everyone (including wifes, husbands and significant others) in ‘sync’ with your calendar.
Synchronization works both ways…e.g. if you make a change in your Google Calendar, it will show up in your Apple iCal and vice versa.
gSync uses Apple’s powerful SyncServices technology (used by iSync, iPhone, and iPods), which means a more complete solution for when you require to update all your Apple devices and software (that supports it).
Also, gSync connects directly with Google Calendar (no 3rd party servers) keeping your data private between you and Google.
- Autosync: define when and at what intervals to update calendars
- Flexibility: use multiple iCal & Google Calendars
- 2 way sync: bi-directional synchronisation
- Privacy: sync directly to Google (no third party server)
- Apple SyncServices: gSync is based on Apple’s SyncServices allowing us to integrate with anything that uses this (e.g. iPhone, iSync, etc…)
- works with multiple Google Accounts
- works with GAFYD (Google for your Domain)
