MTS USB Internet dongle with Mac OSX Lion

by admin on November 16, 2011

For those who are facing a problem with MTS USB Internet on MAC 10.7+ system, here’s a solution:

Uninstall/delete your older MTS dialler application.

You will need ‘CrossPlatformUI-V2.1.2-SSTL.dmg’ (which is available on the ZTE website)

After installation, plug your MTS dongle and  go to
System Preferences > Network > ZTE Wireless Terminal.

Settings:

Configuration: Default
Telephone Number: #777
Account Name: internet@internet.mtsindia.in
Password:  MTS

Save and click connect. That should work.

I have OS x 10.7.4 , would the new mst mblaze ultra work on this operating system?

by paul on March 9, 2014 at 4:59 pm. #

It should. You can get the MTS Mac Software from:
http://www.mtsbroadband.com/download-mts-mblaze-software

Else this is also known to work:
http://www.ztemt.com/down.aspx?on=4&type=1

In your software setting options , verify whether the phone number is #777, username as “internet@internet.mtsindia.in” and password as “MTS”

Try downloading these drivers here.

– Unzip
– Control click/right click on the installer file
– select ‘Show Package Contents
– look for ‘mobile manager.pkg’
– right click and select ‘Show Package Contents’
– You should find something like ‘huawei_universal_425_05.pkg’
– install this
– Plug in your mBlaze device
– open ‘System Preferences’ select ‘Network Preferences’
– Your Huawei device should be detected : Select Huawei in the left hand column
– In configuration: Default, use telephone number *99#
– try connecting
(You will have to check this: I think for MTS the username is internet@internet.mtsindia.in and password is MTS)

its not connecting and showing connection terminated. pls help me.

by Akshaya on November 6, 2014 at 9:21 pm. #

Thanks. The phone number needed change. Its working now.

MTS service centre in Tamilnadu sucks. They didnt know what is macbook. The lady thought its micromax-book.
The service centre TL promised me to call me up in 10 min today (31st Dec 2014) but never called up.
@MTS, i spent 45 min in call twice, first time they disconnected it. I repeatedly asked them to provide if there is any alternate phone number. She told you put 9150**** number, which is my mts phone number.

Its too bad to have such persons in support who suck your time and money.

Try another USB port? Try a USB hub? I had a data card that wouldn’t work on one port, but on another. And once, a data card would ONLY work when connected via a USB hub!

Hello. I have MTS Mblaze internet dongle but like some other commentators recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and now It’s not able to connect. Do I need to download https://www.sendspace.com/file/kmpmw1 or is there any other way? The problem of course is that I can’t get the computer online in order to download anything. I’ve been using my friends computer in the meantime. Then again there’s always a public coffee shop with wifi if need be…. just seeing if it’s essential to download or if there’s any other way around it? Thanks again for the help. I’ve written to MTS twice and they do not reply.

by ankit on April 30, 2015 at 11:11 pm. #

@Ankit: The MTS mBlaze Ultra WiFi doesn’t need to be installed. Just connect it to any USB power source and access the WiFi. Check with MTS Support on securing your WiFi win suitable and robust passwords.

I purchased an MBlaze Ultra Wifi LAVA, I use a Mac OS X 10.9.5 . How do I get this configured? The MTS site doesn’t open.

by Matthew on June 13, 2015 at 2:31 pm. #

Hi Mathew. It’s a WiFi data card. So power it.
Then connect your Mac to the MTS data card Wifi.
Check your retailer for the default password.
Check your manual for configuring. Typically once you have managed to connect to the Wifi. accessing the data card configuration page is via this address on your browser: 192.168.1.0 or such.
Your user manual or retailer will have default usernames and passwords for this page.

Once accessed you can configure, change the username, wifi name and password.

by admin on November 25, 2015 at 12:50 pm. #

@ ALOK AS : Your device is WiFi. You just need to switch it on and access the wifi on your mac.

@sundherkannan : Your device is also Wifi. Just check teh original manuals. You shouldn’t need a software to install.

I have MTS mblaze AC2746 than how should I install it in os x 10.10.5 . when i tried to install cross platform ui v2.2.7 sstl.DMG but it doesn’t work.

by nitin on April 8, 2016 at 8:12 pm. #

@nitin:

– insert the ZTEAC2746 on your Mac’s USB port
– go to system preferences – network
– You will see a ‘USB Connection’ on the left column. If not, at the bottom off the column, click the ‘+’ sign.
– select your interface and service name from the right hand column’s drop down : It should be something like ZTEUSBmodem or so.
– In the fields, set Configuration = Default, Telephone Number = #99*, account na,me and password blank (unless your MTS has these)
– Set Vendor: Generic and Model: GPRS(GSM/3G)
– save and connect.
Should work.

if required, you should be able to download drivers from :
http://www.ztemt.com/card_detail.aspx?on=2&pid=100000002917187

i have macbook pro os x 10.9.5.. not able to install mts.. need help

by 123 on October 14, 2016 at 4:04 pm. #

I recently updated Mac OS to sierra and since then dongle not working as usb instead only wi-fi hotspot. I don’t want to use wi-fi because it has security issues. I want it to work like a usb dongle where I can connect and re-connect internet like before. I tried to install crossplatform (like you mentioned) but did not work. Please help else the device is of no use.

by Anita on November 25, 2016 at 4:32 am. #

Hmmm… we haven’t been able to check the dongle with Sierra. But if you have a good strong password, WiFi shouldn’t be a problem.
